About StateoftheART Gallery

Welcome to StateoftheARTGallery.com.au, an innovative company selling and commissioning the finest contemporary artwork created by Fine Arts graduates and emerging artists from around Australia and South Africa.

Operations based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia

Since launching in 2010, StateoftheART has become synonymous with high quality affordable fine art in South Africa, and now we're bringing the same opportunity to Australian artists and art lovers with StateoftheARTGallery.com.au. We've created a free platform that enables genuinely talented but undiscovered artists to launch their careers, giving young artists a foot in the door and providing them with a means to show and sell their artwork, as well as giving art enthusiasts an opportunity to acquire original contemporary art at a reasonable cost. All of our artists have been carefully selected by the StateoftheART Curatorial Panel - instead of showcasing thousands of artists, we choose to represent only a limited number in our online art gallery - so you can be sure of the quality of the original art for sale. The majority of our proceeds are given to the artists who create these works. So when you buy art from StateoftheART Gallery you’re directly supporting the artists.

Introducing the StateoftheART Gallery Curatorial Panel

StateoftheART Gallery is a juried fine art gallery; we do not accept every artist that would like to exhibit the original art they have for sale. All artists must first submit photographic samples of their paintings, drawings, fine art photography and art prints, etc. for consideration to our panel of art professionals who maintain the quality of the original art being exhibited. The Panel selects each artist and every piece of artwork not only on merit, but to demonstrate a diverse range of styles, skills and techniques.

About Victoria McGregor

Victoria brings her unique experience of developing South Africa’s premier online gallery to her new venture StateoftheARTGallery.com.au. She holds a degree in Computer Science from Cape Town University, and currently lives in Melbourne.

Having moved to Australia a couple of years ago Victoria noticed there was a gap in the market for a company that could exclusively promote and sell graduate art work. Visits to graduate and postgraduate exhibitions strengthened her sense that there was a surge of creative talent in Australia’s visual arts arena, and she realised that there was an urgent need for an alternative platform for talented early-career artists to show their work and gain exposure. StateoftheART Gallery aims to democratize the entire art buying process by connecting artists and art collectors via a curated online marketplace.
