I stepped back to revisit my abstract style. I started this piece in a different direction initially, and it wasn't working. My 6 yr old looked at the piece and said
'Mummy does it represent the good things that happen in the world, and the bad things that happen in the world, at the same time? Because that's what I see.'
I may have boggled slightly that she saw such a deep meaning! And who am I to knock inspiration, so I finished the piece with her wise words in my heart, and it came together just like that!
It is true though. Currently right now, there will be people going through the best times of their lives, and others living in horror. It is a strange concept to dwell on, as so often it's easy for us to only see the world through our own immediate experiences. Deconstructing these ideas through this piece, led me to realise that the paradox on earth is, I can be going through the worst time in my life, and still celebrate a loved ones success.
