Artist's Description

Artist notes: This strong figure goes by the name of Theia. Why? She is such a bold, shining, light creature, casting her eyes upwards as if capturing the first rays of the early morning sun, raising up and living life to the fullest. It is as if she is settling into who she is, beautiful, unique and filled with light. Who was Theia? Theia was a Titan goddess of light , more commonly referred to as the goddess of shining elements. She was associated with shining metals, shining jewels or shining light. The main symbol of Theia is her eyes. Because the Greek’s believed that her eyes emitted a beam that allowed them to see, her eyes were the most important to them. A note on Light Light is one of the universal and fundamental symbols. It is the spiritual and the divine, it is illumination and intelligence. Light is the source of goodness and the ultimate reality, and it accompanies transcendence into the Nirvana of Buddhist doctrine.
