Artist's Description

The inspiration for this painting was a relaxing scene that caught my eye on a trip along the coast of Queensland. I tried to capture the warm glow of the sand with ochres and yellows which contrasted sharply to the blue, rolling waves of the ocean in the background. The old neglected, weatherbeaten boat seemed to be beckoning to me to be taken out on a fishing trip. The palm trees in the background, shrubs and long grass in the foreground suggested a wonderful carefree, relaxed feeling on a balmy, sunny afternoon which I hope I have captured in this painting.
