Artist's Description

Need to know: this original artwork requires framing behind glass.

A transient moment is captured on the scanner surface, where water, ink and other translucent fluids mix together, allowing the pigment molecules to break up and create a new form. The result of these reactions are digitally captured, each with its own distinct character – perhaps even a new creature or life form.

The scanner is at once the means of recording these formations and also the surface which allows the creations to take place. The exact moment at which these amoebae-like forms exist can never be recreated. The artwork is the only evidence of this occurrence taking place.
