Which new trends or Australian artists do you find inspiring at the moment? The medium I use is Watercolour which because of its uncompromising characteristics is probably not the most popular medium used in Australia. Oils and Acrylics are used far greater. Yet I feel Watercolour is gaining recognition mainly due to the works done by four or five leading Australian watercolourist . I'm not sure what the new trends in Australian Art is other than it is very diverse.
Which Australian deceased artist do you most admire and why? The late Harold Herbert would be one artist I admire.
Which exhibition that you have visited made the greatest impact on you and why? The Ian Potter Gallery at Federation Square Melbourne recently held an exhibition entitled " Luminous Australian Watercolours 1900 - 2000". The exhibition showed the great diversity of styles used by artist over the decades, but the works by Harold Herbert and Lionel Lindsay were the most interesting to me. Their work was fresh and expressive executed with great economy.
