How many years an artist?

I always liked art I remember since primary school..I always liked to play with colour. As a child I was encouraged to paint after school as well. My cousin, who was my inspiration, always reminded me to paint and I did on and off because of work. About 4 years ago (since 2013) I took it up more seriously and I am still painting almost every day.

What should people know about your art that they can't tell from looking at it?

I like to experiment with different colour tones, from warm analogous which are my favourite, complementary colours .. I did a lot of paintings in a split complementary colour (purple and yellow) I use a palette knife for every painting, sometimes for just the finishing touches and some pieces are done only with a palette knife.

Which living or dead artist would you most like to meet?

Claude Monet and Arthur Streeton.

Tell us about your studio. Location, clean, cluttered, big, small, etc?

I work from home. I use the study room which is very small but Its got the best light in the house. Am I messy? Yes I can be .. I’ve got paint on all of my jeans and small colour spots around the house! I do not know how hm !? haha but it’s easily cleaned. I like to be organized as well.

Art school or self-taught?

Throughout the last 15 years I attended many demos by well known artists.. and some classes and workshops .. I did 4 years of David Chen’s workshops.

Do you prefer to work with music or in silence?

Oh music for sure! Some days I am pretty sure that my neighbours can hear me! I always have at least the radio on, it’s how I work best.

Favourite brush?

Wide brushes because I do a lot of sky. I can not call a palette knife a brush?? can I? Hmm nooo...

Where can we find you outside of the studio?

Having a cappuccino somewhere (I call it my break) because I love a bit of a busy environment. After working outside of home for so many years I now have to give myself a reason to leave hehe.

If you couldn't be an artist, what would you do?

It would definitely have to be something creative. Maybe a fashion designer! That was my hobby in my 20s...

Interests other than art?

I love to travel, explore, take a lot of pictures and read books.

What do you collect?

I have a lot of books, magnets from my trips, magazines, cook books and old photo albums ... also canvases and oil paint... hmm I think that I need a bigger house ;)

Paint every day even if it’s for half an hour.

Are there messages within your work?

I don’t know in which genre my art will lead me, but it will always be inspired by nature.

What does your art process entail?

When I walk into my studio in the morning I have a positive and happy feeling. With a positive attitude, I always have a productive day.
